This is the Monon Railroad in 1962. From an Interstate Commerce Commission file/docket. Provided to the Interstate Commerce Commission as an exhibit in a finance matter. This condensed profile/track chart shows all railroad owned trackage, from Louisville to Chicago and all branch lines: Indianapolis Branch; Michigan City Branch; French Lick Branch, Midland Branch. By this time the railroad once known as the Chicago, Indianapolis and Louisville had changed its corporate name to Monon Railroad. Trains still entered the (former) namesake cities of Chicago and Louisville, but, as it had done from the beginning, the railroad made it to both cities via trackage rights. Every mile of track the Monon owned was inside Indiana’s borders. So this track chart shows the run from Louisville to Chicago on Monon-owned rails: from the Ohio River to the Indiana/Illinois state line.
